Cameron Silver Is Coming To Singapore

Fashionista friends, take note. Cameron Silver is coming to Singapore. Named one of Time magazine's "25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion", he is someone you ought to know if you love fashion, especially vintage pieces.

So, who is Cameron Silver? Once a singer, the now vintage couture purveyor followed his fashion calling and ditched a successful performing career to open vintage boutique Decades on Melrose Place in 1997. The rest is fabulous fashion history. Today, the owner of celeb-fave vintage boutique in L.A. also co-owns Decadestwo and has a branch in London within Dover Street Market. He also counts Rachel Zoe as one of his best pals!

Dapper and well-dressed Cameron is as much a fixture on the red carpet as his clients. He has dressed A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Renee Zellweger in upscale vintage designs and contributes regularly to fashion magazines. Since 2004, he is also the Creative Consultant to the French fashion house Azzaro, which has recently enjoyed a renaissance.

I love Cameron's philosophy on fashion. “I think of fashion, of dressing, as art. I’m not about disposable shopping. Even my day wear is glamour,” said Cameron. With many heritage houses from New York to Milan seeking inspiration at Decades, it is hardly surprising that Cameron is frequently tapped both as public emissary and secret weapon to consult on everything from re-imagining a brand’s identity to navigating its global launch.

So why is Cameron coming to Singapore? Thanks to Cindy Chua-Tay, a local fashionista who happens to be a dear friend of Cameron, I will get the opportunity to meet the fabulous Cameron. Cindy has invited Cameron to bring along an exclusive collection of vintage couture pieces curated specially for his visit to Singapore. I can't wait to shop his amazing collection and I hope to bag myself a vintage Hermes bag. Cameron is such a big fan of Hermes that he has amassed an amazing collection. The house of Hermes even made a 'Cameron' bag for him! All hail Vintage King Cameron!
