The Talented Mrs Burstein

What's up, Browns? 40 years of fabulous fashion is indeed something worth exhibiting about. To celebrate its fabulous four decades in fashion retail, Browns is launching a book and an exhibition on 13th May. I can't be in London for the exhibition but I have ordered myself a copy of this limited edition, first- ever Browns book titled ‘Browns – 40 Years of Fashion'.

The books features fashion images that have never been seen before, interviews and exclusive photos of designers and ambassadors (whom have been discovered or worked with Browns) taken by photographer Paolo Roversi. The book was edited by Isaac Lock and the foreword is by Ralph Lauren. Contributors include John Galliano, Rosita Missoni, Azzedine Alaïa, and Sonia Rykiel.

Browns is one of London's iconic fashion landmarks and destination for true fashionistas. Founded by Joan Burstein (or Mrs B as she is affectionately known) and her husband Sidney in 1970, Browns is highly regarded as a fashion institution for discovering talents such as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Commes des Garcons, and Christopher Kane. In fact, I dare say Mrs B changed the lives of many with her discerning eye for discovering future talents... from the way Londoners dress to the career paths of young designers looking for their big breaks.

Browns has launched an exclusive collection titled "Future Collectables" by its designer friends such as Sonia Rykiel, Christopher Kane, Burberry, Erdem, Philip Lim, Alexander Wang, Hussein Chalayan, Roland Mouret, Missoni, Stella McCartney, Rick Owens, Roskanda Ilincic...
